The John Cardinal O’Connor School is a Catholic school for children with learning differences. We provide an affordable, language-based academic curriculum for children in grades K-8 with differences in learning, including, speech or language impairments, executive function challenges, or other health impairments. Our multisensory teaching techniques are used throughout the day to keep our students interested and engaged in the learning process. We specialize in the use Orton-Gillingham based reading programs such as Preventing Academic Failure (PAF), as well as Judith Hochman’s Basic Writing Skills.
Our Students are exposed to a full academic curriculum modified meet their learning needs. We teach strong moral character and compassion for others using our Catholic faith as our guide. Through a small student-to-teacher ratio with certified special education teachers, and additional academic guidance and instruction, students are able to achieve their academic potential.
